Mind a little mind detox?

 

The change of seasons is always a good time to take a break and give your body and mind a little detox. It's an opportunity to cleanse and purify while you let go of the past and welcome the new fresh energy.

Try this easy breathing exercise for about five minutes to de-clutter your mind whenever you feel you need to step back and reconnect with yourself - going to work, during your lunch break, morning, evening...

Start by sitting comfortably and focusing on your natural breath for a moment. When you are settled begin regulating your breath, inhaling deeply through your nose and exhaling slowly through your mouth. Use the visualisation techniques below with each breath to help you balance your thoughts, emotions and energies.

Inhale new energy > Exhale old energy
Inhale strength > Exhale weakness
Inhale calmness > Exhale tension
Inhale health > Exhale illness
Inhale happiness > Exhale sorrow
Inhale success > Exhale failure
Inhale confidence > Exhale fear
Inhale gratitude > Exhale condemnation
Inhale "I can" attitude > Exhale "I can’t" attitude

...and so on. You can apply any individual conditions relevant to your life at this present moment.
