Yoga Is Not About Touching Your Toes

I don't know if I told you this before but the first time I came to a yoga class, I actually wanted to run away!

Everything was new, strange and nothing what I expected.

The teacher wanted me to chant but I didn't feel like it... I was told to breathe through my nose but I didn't know how... All the dogs, cats, camels, cobras and whatever asanas sounded all too confusing and I certainly didn't feel and look as much at ease as the guy next to me.

Well, things changed and I am so happy I returned. Different studio, different class, different teacher, different yoga style. Somehow yoga stuck with me and I stuck with yoga...and I have been enjoying this journey ever since!

I understand finding the right yoga class can be quite daunting experience. There are perhaps as many varieties of yoga as there are yoga teachers and you don't know where to begin.

So you decide to go to any yoga class just for the sake of going to one, don't bother to roll out your yoga mat at all or make excuses...

The best and the most common one I hear all the time: "I can't do yoga because I can't touch my toes!"

Really? Well, have you actually thought about doing yoga so you can touch your toes? I usually reply.

What I want to say is that I totally get your frustrations with your why's, what's and how's...and even your excuses or expectations because I have been there before myself.

That's why I am so excited to invite you to my next event YogaElements on Saturday 11th April from 4pm till 7pm in SW London - an afternoon of asanas, breathing, meditation, relaxation & lots more fun!

I have designed this program to help you determine what yoga style suits your true nature so you can achieve the greatest benefits and transformation.

I am even happy to teach you how to touch your toes if this is really what you want...

In fact, why don't you leave me your comment under this post and let me know what is the single most important thing you want to achieve, change and/or transform through your yoga practice?

For me, I practice yoga (and I don't only mean on the yoga mat) to release the tension in my body & mind to find more space to grow, dream, create, love and share.

Now over to you. Here I even give you some keywords to get you started if you feel stuck...

BODY | MIND | SPIRIT | FLEXIBILITY | STRENGTH | BALANCE | FOCUS | CONCENTRATION | CLARITY | RELEASE OF TENSION | CALM | PEACE | HARMONY | DE-STRESS | CONTENTMENT | HAPPINESS | JOY | BLISS | FAMILY | RELATIONSHIPS | WORK | HEALTH | FINANCES | BUSINESS | EMPOWERMENT | EQUILIBRIUM | DREAMS
