Creativity Takes Courage

Does creativity take courage? Yes, you bet it does! If you want to create something truly amazing you can't just dream it, you have to release your fears and inhibitions and dive in head first, trusting your inner intuition or the sixth sense that something amazing is about to happen.

Or you can just sit back and drift along your life relying on external conditions and others to navigate you to your dreamy destination. But while you're enjoying dreaming about the bright and light future from your comfy seat, don't be surprised if you may end up in a black hole instead.

Who's to blame? Of course it's not you, you were not in charge of the sail after all!

And that's exactly what I keep reminding myself every time I want to bring a change in my life, learn new skills or create something I desire - a new yoga retreat, book or website or connecting with someone I truly admire. Am I unsure if things will work out the way I envision, you bet I am but that's not going to stop me.

Think of all the great artists. Would they be able to create their masterpieces if they didn't take their dream or vision and guided by their creative intuition and courage picked up those brushes and paints?

To create is to be in a zone, a place where there is no mental clutter or tension. A place where you connect with your sixth sense and your heart. A place where things like courage, desired feelings, creativity and free expression go hand in hand.

Are you ready to dive in? Do you want to get what you desire? Then go and get it!

You know you're amazing. You have all it takes. You are no different to Matisse, Picasso or Monet. Sure, you might not have an artistic talent but you do have a talent to create.

So, please do us all favour and don't let the world miss out on your greatness and uniqueness!

Now let's put the words into action, strengthen your courage muscles and get your creativity juices flowing...

Below, I've selected some beautiful mandalas, a spiritual and ritual symbol in Indian religions, representing the Universe. In various spiritual traditions, mandalas may be employed for focusing attention of practitioners, as a spiritual guidance tool, for establishing a sacred space, and as an aid to meditation.

Mandala, is the space where the inner and outer worlds meet, a place that can hold and manifest the powerful energy of intention and creation.

First, think of one thing that would have to happen to feel happy with your progress towards your desired feelings and dreams. Maybe you want to become a yoga teacher or a healer so the one thing that needs to happen for you is to sign-up for a training or find a mentor, right?

Think of how you would feel if this dream has come through: Describe how would you behave? How would you spend your time? What would you eat/drink? How would you communicate with others? Where would you be? What emotions would you experience? How would your relationships improve?

Finally, choose your preferred mandala. Set your intentions as you described and relax your body & mind into the clear picture you envisioned for yourself. Begin colouring your mandala, allowing your intuition to choose the right colours and letting your creativity flow as you connect to your creative source.

Once you finish with your masterpiece, make sure you display it somewhere visible (office wall, computer screen, fridge, mirror, bedroom door, etc) as a point of your mind focus so that it can work its powerful magic on your life and remind you where your heart is.
